Denmark maintains different types of institutions abroad.
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has diplomatic missions all over the world. They collaborate locally with presentations of Danish art and culture. If you would like to collaborate or have questions respecting Danish culture or Danish society in general, you are always welcome to contact the Danish diplomatic mission nearest you.
The Danish Cultural Institute has branches in ten different countries. The cultural institutes are part of the Danish Ministry of Culture and work to promote cultural exchange between Denmark and other countries.
Denmark has three research institutes abroad that, in addition to their scholarly pursuits, also promote Danish culture to a lesser degree. These institutes are located in Athens, Greece, Damascus, Syria and Rome, Italy.
There is also a number of Danish lecturers employed at universities all over the world. The lecturers, who are supported by the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, teach Danish language and culture but also promote familiarity with Danish culture more generally.
