Biography about Hanne Marie Svendsen
Hanne Marie Svendsen was born 8.27.1933 in Skagen. In 1958 she got an M.A. in Danish and German from the University of Copenhagen, and following that worked first on the program staff of Danmarks Radio and then as deputy head of the Radio’s theater and literature department. From 1965-70 she was employed as assistant professor at the University of Copenhagen. She has been a member of the literary committee of the State Foundation for the Arts 1968-70, of the Foundation’s council 1973-76, and of the Traveling National Theater’s management 1977-84. Her debut in book form was På rejse ind i romanen in 1962, and in 1977 her first novel Mathildes Drømmebog appeared.
