Biography about Henrik Stangerup
Henrik Stangerup was born in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, in 1937. He matriculated in 1956 and read Theology at the University of Copenhagen until 1960. In 1963 he followed a course of study at The French Film School L´I.D.H.E.C. He then wrote for many years for a number of Danish newspapers, including Den Konservative Generalkorrespondance, Ekstra Bladet, Politiken, Berlingske Tidende and Samvirke. Besides writing novels, Henrik Stangerup was also an industrious writer of essays, articles and other contributions to Danish and foreign journals. Throughout his life Henrik Stangerup maintained a close relationship with his ´adopted country´, France. He died in 1998 at his home in the Danish village, Langebæk.
