Biography about Jan Mogensen
Jan
Mogensen (b. 1945) has received many prizes over the years, and his books have
become timeless classics that have enjoyed a great success both in Denmark and
abroad. He is a versatile artist who illustrates virtually every kind of
children’s story, from old fables, through Hans Christian Andersen, to quite
new stories by contemporary children’s writers. He has a very fine, natural and
simple manner and often works with soft shades in watercolours and Indian ink.
The result is beautiful and easily absorbed illustrations that make the books
suitable for reading aloud, even for the youngest children.
