Biography about Egon Mathiesen

Egon Mathiesen was born in 1907 in Esbjerg. A self-taught artist, he held his first exhibition in 1932. Later commissions included the winter foyer of Tivoli Concert Hall in 1956. However, he is best known for his illustrated children’s books. Mathiesen published his first book for children, Vi vil flyve, in 1939. Egon Mathiesen died in 1976.
