Ole Lund
Kirkegaard was born in 1940 in Århus. He qualified as a teacher in 1963. In
1966 he won a children’s story competition in the national broadsheet Politiken,
and subsequently Gyldendal
publishing house asked him to write a children’s book. Kirkegaard’s first book
for children, Lille Virgil, was
published in 1966. Ole Lund Kirkegaard died in 1979.
