Reviews about Pia Tafdrup

On Spring Tide
It is the flow of images that brings the individual days and poems to life. It is in the totality that the genetic code is firmed up and the multiplication table works out. Meanwhile, the days disappear - just listen to how beautifully the light dies ... This place is the place of understanding, where everything is one, behind the images of the forms of desire. With Springflod, Pia Tafdrup has written her most beautiful and most powerful book so far.

Bo Green Jensen, Morgenavisen Jyllands Posten, 13.9.1985

On The Crystal Forest
Crystal is frost and/or opulence, and both make sense: snow crystals, frost, cold, but also splendour, ostentatious colours in patterns, magnificent verses, which both ring like ice and break into music. Pia Tafdrup is different, but still tied to nature which she describes with skill and sensitivity, a poet with a sense for overtones and a well-developed feel for breach and dissonance. It seems to me that she has never written so beautifully.

Per Højholt, Jyllands Posten 9.10. 1992

On Territorial Song
The poet Pia Tafdrup publishes her hitherto most extensive volume of poems with a focus on Jerusalem, where a complex new material from her own experience moves her to write a great lyrical sequence of poems... With her brilliantly maintained balance between minutely sensed observations and penetrating reflections, with her constant change of form from horizontal sweeping vistas to vertical poems of great concentration, Tafdrup has with Territorialsang once and for all distanced herself from the spindly poetry current in recent years.

Neal Ashley Conrad, Information d. 13. september 1994
