Reviews about Niels Frank

On Tabernacle
Niels Frank is a master of the lacunae, the undercurrents that traverse everyday language, and he also knows how to accelerate a poem so that a more philosophical mode of thought emerges. The different kinds of language blend with one another, and in between the sentences become so saturated that they can almost be touched and felt in their materiality.

On Life in the Tropics
The book will continue to be quoted and discussed, for it maintains a dialectic between life and art, the tension between ‘the tropics’ understood as places where the body sweats and ‘the tropes’ read as figures of style executed with cool deliberation.

On Life in the Tropics
How does one describe something that only happens right there before one’s eyes? Who is looking, and how is the looking done, and does the world look back?
It might sound as though Niels Frank writes the most self-important navel-gazing poems, but they are rather, as he calls it, confessions. And they are often outstandingly well-written.
