Excerpts from
Ossian's Pulse
By Simon Grotrian
For Jack Kampmann
Before the deep opens
exposing seaweed, roe and ships
I press myself against the rock behind us
more durable
than the sea in tons
Knotted octopi put a feather
like greyish fingers back in the water
the village is asleep on the bottom
with flickering splendour of hair
you roll your stone
