Grants

The Danish Arts Council’s Committee for Literature has a number of international support schemes. These support schemes are directed towards publishers, translators, foreign institutions and authors seeking support for travel or translations concerned with literary projects.

The support funds are proportioned among the following five pools:

The sample translation pool
Grants for translators and publishers for sample translations. Read more.

The translation pool
Grants for publishers for coverage of translation costs. Read more.

Literary exchange pool
Support is granted to cover costs with respect to the participation of Danish authors in literature festivals, readings, and promotion in connection with publications abroad. Support is granted on the same grounds to foreign authors travelling to Denmark. Read more  

Travel grants for translators
Translators who have published at least two translations may apply for grants for specific purposes, as well as for trips of some duration for the purpose of supplementary linguistic and cultural training. Read more.

General Funds
Subsidies for publications of translated Danish literature. Read more.

Residencies

International writers have also the possibility to stay at two residences in Denmark.
Note that applications for stays should not be made to the Arts Council’s Literature Committee. Read more
